This Institute cvill examine the models for providing assistance to secondary
students including teacher-focused consulting, resource consulting, modification of the
regular or mainstreamed classroom; and the resource classroom. It will explore the
principles underlying these models, the type of youth who benefit from each, and what the
research is saying about the effectiveness of each Much of the class will be devoted to
curnculum adaptation strategies for reading, writing, mathematics, thinking, listening and
