COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A diverse range of readings, presentations and seminar discussions will provide a basis
for investigating meanings in relation to
Service Leaning
experiences in Chandigarh and
Dharamsala, India. Concepts of
Intercultural Communication, Global Education will
be
explored and utilized in the analysis of
Service Learning.
ASSIGNMENTS
1. Participation in
"Service Learning Projects"
in Chandigarh and Dharamsala.
2.
Cooperatively
plan, implement and evaluate
the service learning project.
3. Write a
"Reflective Journal"
to be submitted to the instructor on a weekly basis
4.
Create a
"Service Learning Portfolio"
5. Near the end of the program, participate in an
"Individual Interview"
with the
instructor to review and reflect on your experiences in relation to
Service
Learning
and the development of concepts related to
Intercultural
Communication
and
Global Education
EVALUATION
You are required to complete all of the assignments listed above. The expectations for
each assignment will be outlined for you during the program. This is an ungraded course
in which the assignments evaluated on a
pass or fail
basis. All assignments must be
satisfactorily completed in order to pass.
