    PREREQUISITE:
    EDUC 401/402 and certified practicing teacher
    COURSE DESCRIPTION:
    This practical presentation will focus on the strategies necessary to ensure a well-structured service
    delivery system to serve students with learning difficulties. Issues of identification and assessment will
    be addressed. Through a cooperative planning model, resource and classroom teachers assume
    joint responsibility for program planning, curriculum modification, and evaluation. The Burnaby course
    with Sue Altman will focus on the intermediate and graduate levels.
    COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
    1.
    READ text and articles (handouts) prior to the class. Participate and contribute to discussion and
    questioning. Lead small group discussions based on readings of text and articles. Students are
    expected to attend each lecture.
    2.
    Reaction paper to novel,
    Reading, Writing and Rage.
    3.
    Class quizzes on definitions.
    4.
    Research paper and oral report on your paper.
    5.
    In-class final examination.
    GRADING CRITERIA:
    1. Attendance and participation in class activities and discussion (200/0)
    2. Evaluation of written work (45%)

    research paper (30/45)
    b.
    reaction paper (15/45)
    3. The oral report (10%)
    4. Final Exam. (25%)
