    PREREQUISITE

    COURSE DESCRIPTION
    Students in this course will learn how to:
    a.
    Teach ESL students to learn from and talk about graphics in science and math textbooks;
    b.
    Model oral language for word problems requiring mathematical reasoning;
    c.
    Teach reading strategies for science and math;
    d.
    Teach self-instructional strategies to ESL students;
    e.
    Remediate mismatches between ESL learner-perspectives and the science-perspective that is to be learned.
    REQUIREMENTS
    Four lesson plans, one for each of topics a-d above, each worth 25% of total grade.
