EDUC 260 (Learning and Teaching Through Technology)
DESCRIPTION
The class will focus on issues associated with the theoretical application of technologies across the education sector
(from the classroom to the nation). The course will include the study of issues associated with access to technology
and the effect of technology on equity, as well as its role in supporting "excellent" education. The potential use of
technology to extend or bypass the traditional boundaries of institutional education (public or private) will also be
examined. Students will be asked to undertake a significant amount of reading, and explorations of scholarly
research. A primary focus of this class will be helping students understand how decisions made both within—and
external to—classrooms and schools can significantly affect teaching practice.
