PREREQUISITE:
Education 341 and Education 342.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The primary purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity for students to work with adults
in a literacy instruction situation. A secondary objective is to review contemporary literacy
instruction methods and techniques as they apply to practicum situations.
FORMAT:
This course consists of:
a)
weekly two-hour class meetings
b)
thirty hours of practicum.
Subsequent weekly meetings, practicum locations and times to be decided during the first class.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Student evaluation will be based on:
- Completion of all the practicum hours, as agreed to with the instructor,
and writing of required reports ..................................................................(50%)
Observations of practicum sessions by the instructor ..........................................(25%)
- Attendance to and participation in all
class meetings .......................................(25%)
