First meeting will be held September 12 at 7:00 P. M. in MPX 8633 (SFU).
PREREQUISITES:
Educ 341 and 342.
OBJECTIVES:
The purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity for students to
apply the theory and methods they have studied in Educ 341 and Educ
342. Students will be placed in teaching situations allowing them to work
either with an adult basic literacy student or with a group of adult learners
in a basic literacy classroom. In most cases, the I-Care programme at
Douglas College will be the practicum site.
FORMAT:
The course consists of two hours per week of classroom instruction
(lectures, films and readings) and three hours per week of practicum
work with adult learners.
REQUIRED READINGS:
A collection of readings will be made available to students (at cost) at the
first class, and a list of recommended supplementary readings will be
distributed.
EVALUATION:
Marks will be awarded on the basis of:
