DESCRIPTION
This course will explore questions regarding classroom management and introduce a
variety of models of classroom management. In this process, participants will be
encouraged to assess these models while at the same time examining and clarifying their
own beliefs regarding classroom management. This investigation coupled with an
examination of management strategies will provide a basis for organizing worthwhile and
productive learning experiences. Various strategies such as case studies, small group
discussions and critical analysis will be used to investigate a variety of issues related to
classroom management such as the use of power and authority, implementing cooperative
learning and the role of student choice.
