AHCOTE Program
OBJECTIVES
1.
To encourage students to develop a more profound understanding of the school as a
social institution.
2.
To study the effects current social issues are having on the school system.
3.
To apply informed analytical skills to former notions about schooling and to think
creatively about the applications of recent research in education.
PROCEDURES
The course will consist of lectures by the instructor and possibly selected guests, group
discussions, student presentations, films, and other relevant resources, all of
which shall have the purpose of promoting thoughtful consideration of issues
impacting on education and broadening the student's perspective on education.
