trends affecting the institutions and
practices of education.
Range of Topics:

the course will focus on the school as a
social institution and then examine
critically social issues that inpinge
on the school; for example, the struggle
for control of education, rights in school,
equality of educational opportunity,
cultural pluralism, accountability, sex-
role stereotyping, compulsory education,
reform and reaction in education.

Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30 - 2:20 p.m.
