COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course students will participate in a set of activities designed to explore
practical implications of theories in educational psychology and to provide first
hand experience with experimental and descriptive research methods.
ASSIGNMENTS
Students will participate in 3-4 structured activities which engage them in
evaluating research and/or conducting mini-"experiments" so as to observe
educational psychology in practice and gain experience with different research
methods (e.g., case studies, observations, experiments). Students will be
evaluated primarily on written reports of activities, but also on in-class
presentations. Each assignment will be weighted equally. There are no exams
in this course.
READINGS
Readings will be drawn from current publications (e.g., journals, books), and
will be made available in class, in the CET, and/or on reserve in the library.
