COURSE DESCRIPTION:

"Everything that happens to you is your teacher... the secret is to learn to sit at the feet of your own life

and be taught by it"

This introductory course is an opportunity for students to engage in collaborative and self-reflective

practices exploring the complex dynamics that influence and shape our lives. Situating our inquiry

within the context of a global village we will explore questions and issues relating to education and

spirituality, contemplative pedagogy, and the role 'living inquiry' plays in our lives as educators,

students and global citizens. The course models a range of learning experiences, including: communal

sites of learning, generative dialogue, circle dynamics, contemplative inquiry, storytelling, individual and

group presentations, reflective practice and writing to learn. Please note -this is a writing intensive

course.
