Calendar Change, Undergraduate Department, Beedie School of Business
Effective: Spring
2012 calendar
In follow up to documents submitted at the February 2011 UCC Meeting, and approved at the April
Senate meeting, calendar changes to the Double Degree program were omitted.
Within the majority
of Business programs, students must take BUS 360W and at least two of the 400
level Business courses, including BUS 478, at SFU.
Rationale: University regulations state that the upper division writing intensive course must be done
within the major program and must be completed at SFU. The above statement will emphasize this
point.
As SFU is granting the degree, we believe that it is important the students complete at least 2 of the 400
level courses at SFU, including Bus 478. This change will need to be reflected in the SFU Calendar for
Business
programs.
The changes will affect these programs in various ways:
Double Degree in Engineering Science and Business Administration
Under
Program
Requirements
Bus 360W-4 Business Communication*
*to be completed before the student's 75th unit and at SFU in accordance with the WQS requirements
BUS 478-3 Seminar in Administrative Policy**
**to be completed at SFU
Under Business Concentration Elective Courses
• Students must also complete four upper division courses in a Business concentration
including at least 3 courses at the
400 division (not including Bus 478 or Bus 425). At
least one
of these 400 division courses to be completed at SFU.
