At the time that the Senate Committee on Graduate

Studies was formed, Deans of Faculties were not specifically

included as members of this committee. I believe this was

done because at that time Deans were automatically also Heads

of Departments, and as such, members of the committee.

I should like to ask Senate to add Deans to the member-

ship of the Senate Committee on Graduate Studies. The reason

to include Deans appears to be an obvious one. I would

appreciate it if this question would be put on the next agenda

of Senate so that the existing situation can be remedied.
