GENERAL:
The Act States:
Section27:
The Senate shall make and publish all rules necessary and not in-
consistent with this Act in respect of nominations, elections and
voting, and the Registrar shall conduct all elections as are required.

The Board shall consist of eleven members, comprised of the Chancellor,
the President, three members elected by the Senate from its own members
and six members appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council. 1963,
c.52, s..16.

The following persons are not eligible to be members of the
Board:'
a)
Members of the Parliament of Canada:
b)
Members of Executive Council or of the Legislative
Assembly:
c) Members of the Board of Governors of any other University:
d)
Other than the President, any appointee of the Board who
receives remuneration from the University:
e)
Any employee in the service of the Department of Education
or principal or teacher of any school:
f)
A person who resides outside the Province:
g) A person who has not attained the age of twenty-one years:

If a member of the Board accepts any of the positions referred to
in subsection (1), other than that of President, he ceases to be a member
of the Board, and a declaration of the vacancy entered in the minutes of
the Board is conclusive evidence thereof. 1963, c.52, s.20.
The members of Senate eligible for election to the Board are the three members
appointed by the Lieutenant Governor-in-Council (C.L. Frederickson, A. Hean and C.
i:cLean) and the six members elected by Convocation (A.E. Branca, J.L. Dampier, A.J.
Ellis, W.M. Hamilton, Mrs. 0. Koernef and Mrs. S. Lett.)

PROPOSAL
As the' number of eligible Senators is small, the proposal is that the nine
names above be listed on the ballot, unless any of the nine persons wishes to
withdraw his or her names The ballot; would be a simple transferable ballot
and would carry instructions to mark first, second and third Choices, would be
sealed in the same manner as the, recent. Senate election ballots and would be
distributed, collected and cc'nt.ed according to the following schedule.
June 13 - ballot papers mailed to all those eligible
to vote.
June 30 - ballots due in Registrar's Office.
July 4 - Senate meeting - announcement of results.
