It had been decided some months ago to issue a separate Calendar

for Graduate Studies in order not to hold up the publication of the Under-

graduate Calendar.

We still have not been able to establish University regulations

governing graduate studies; each faculty has been studying the matter but

the separate faculty recommendations should then be studied by the proposed

Senate Committee on Graduate studies, before a University policy is

recommended to Senate.

As it appears the general regulations are a few months from

realization, and as most of the graduate student recruiting has been com-

pleted, and as each department has all its own graduate information gathered

together in written form, the consensus of the Heads is that we should not

attempt to rush a Calendar right now, but continue working towards one for

publication in the fall.
