1.
Falsification of Application form.
Mr. Mitchell did not show on his Simon Fraser application
form that he had attended United College in Winnipeg
and had been asked to withdraw from this college. This
information was brought to the Registrar's attention by
the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.
2. Mr.
Mitchell was given permission to continue in the
first semester of the University on the understanding
that he successfully complete his five semester courses.
He was able to pass three of his five courses.
3.- This was Mr. Mitchell's fourth try at University work
at the same or comparable level course work. He was not
able to complete University or college work in New York
nor at United College in Winnipeg. The President moved
that a resume of the Registrar's recommendation regarding
Mr. Mitchell's withdran1 should be given to the Senate
for their opinion. It was seconded by Professor Bettison,

Mr. Mitchell entered United College first year (Cr. XII)
in 1963. He failed this year and was permitted to try
again. He withdrew from United on January 8th,
1965,
and was told he would not be accepted back at United.
United now requires all students to have Manitoba Cr. XII
Senior
Matriculation before they can be admitted. Mr.
Mitchell could not be accepted there until he completed
his
Manitoba Grade XII.
The reason he gave for his 1965 withdraw. from United
was illness - "unspecified". No medical record is included
in his file.
In his
Christmas exams, 1964, at United he failed three
out of five courses.
