Revisions to Senate paper S.l 0-1 06
At the Senate meeting on September 13) 2010, there was a friendly amendment approved
that the wording in the document, regarding admission to
"home" university) be resolved
before the motion goes to the Board
of Governors for approval.
Concern
was expressed over the following statement) "students with Chinese citizenship
who wish to join the GDDP programs must first apply for admission at ZU." The issue
was raised that if a student had dual citizenship) then according to that statement they must
first apply to ZU as the "home" university. In reality) students are required to apply for
admission to each university regardless
of citizenship.
The wording under the category of admission has been changed to say) "Students must
first
be admitted to one institution) and then apply) and be admitted to the other
institution. To qualify for admission to the GDDP programs, students must satisfy the
usual admission requirenlents specified by each university. The university
of first-
admission \vill be referred to as the student's "home" university. Students with SFU as
their home university are called SFU students and students with ZU as their home
university are called
ZU students below." The revised papers reflect this change.
