I was very pleased to learn that the Senate, at its meeting on 29th

August, had decided that it would be appropriate to allow faculty

department offices to receive copies of the minutes of its meeting.

I should like to propose that the Senate might also allow departments

and faculty to receive copies of the Senate supporting papers. The

minutes by themselves are not entirely meaningful when the proposals,

for example, to which they refer are not known to the persons who

read the minutes.
