Dear Senators, 

1.

The Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules has determined that there is insufficient material 

to hold the Senate meeting on October 1, 2001. 

Therefore the October meeting of Senate is 

cancelled. 

2.

Elections to Senate Committees will continue, 

with vacancies being circulated by 

e-mail later this week and nominations due by Friday, September 28th, 2001 at 4:30 pm.

If elections 

are required for Senate Committees, this will be done through the circulation of ballots by mail. 

3.

The next meeting of Senate is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2001. 

Agenda 

items and papers for the November meeting will be required by the Secretary by 11:30 am, Thursday, 

October 18, 2001. Submissions may be e-mailed to bgrant@sfu.ca 

but must be followed up by signed 

paper submissions. These items will be considered by the Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules on 

Tuesday, October 23, 2001 with Senate distribution on Friday, October 26, 2001.
