Paper S.98-58 - Review of Student Conduct Policies - For Information
Senate was advised that SCAR had approved the establishment of an ad hoc
committee to review and update existing student conduct policies T.10.01,
T10.02, T10.03, and T10.04. Senate received information with respect to the
terms of reference and membership of the ad hoc committee.
-
-
response to an -
inquiry as to why SCAR appointed the members of this
committee rather than the President, Senate was informed that SCAR has
responsibility for Senate committees and should be the one to name a
committee reviewing a Senate policy. It was noted that the President is also the
Chair of SCAR and expectations are that he and the committee will work closely
together when selecting members.

Information
The date of the next regularly scheduled meeting of Senate is Monday, July 6,
1998 and will be held in WMC 3210.
Brief discussion took place with respect to meeting in the Halpern Centre.
Concerns were expressed about the acoustics and long line of tables which made
it difficult to see other Senators. It was decided that the Halpern Centre will be
used on September 14th for one more try with the tables arranged in a different
configuration.
Senators were encouraged to participate in the Convocation ceremonies which
were scheduled to be held on June 4th and June 5th.
The Open Session adjourned at 7:20 pm. Following a brief recess, the Assembly moved
into Closed Session.
