APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE OPEN SESSION OF JANUARY 11, 1988
Referring to the comments at the top of page four, K. Rieckhoff requested an
amendment to reflect his opinion that even if additional funds become
available, the University should concern itself with growth in quality rather
than an increase in size. Following this amendment, the Minutes were
approved as distributed.

G. Ivany reported that Dr. Saywell was absent from Senate due to his
attendance at a meeting of Commonwealth University Heads in Perth,
Australia.
