- Cancellation

The Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules (SCAR) met

,

on Tuesday,

May 19th to consider the agenda for the meeting of Senate scheduled

for June 1. No reports had been received from any of the standing

committees of Senate, and no pressing business was identified. After

considerable discussion, it was agreed that the meeting should be

cancelled.

The Chair of the Board of Governors will be invited, along with other

Board members, to the September meeting of Senate scheduled for

September 14.

SCAR has

asked the Senate Policy

Committee on Scholarships, Awards

and Bursaries for a response for

that same meeting to the

Notice of

Motion by

Senator Michael Warsh.

No doubt other business

will arise

Following the conclusion of business at the September meeting,

Senators (including 1987 retiring members of Senate) and members

of the Board will be invited to the residence of the President, Dr.

Saywell, for a reception.

At some date prior to the September meeting, a short orientation

'program for new Senators will be conducted. Details on the program

will be circulated to new

Senators during the latter part of the

summer.
