    read as follows:
"B. Wilson referred to the Report on the Special Semester,

there would be no problem in future meeting the requirement
of 9 credit hours for Canada Student Loan and Grant in Aid
    eligibility."
The rewording was accepted and the minutes of the Open Session of
May 10, 1976, as adjusted, were approved.
    3.
    BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
In accordance with the request of R. Schiffer which had been made
at the previous meeting, the Secretary provided information to the effect
that in the Faculties of Arts, Education and Interdisciplinary Studies,
with very few exceptions, considerably more courses were taken beyond the
minimum of six semester hours of electives required by the Faculty of
Science to be taken outside that Faculty. It was agreed the statistics
would be made available to Senators without individual students being
    identified.
    4.
    REPORT OF CHAIRMAN
    A. Arrott enquired of the Chairman what action the University was
contemplating in regard to the Winegard Commission, and was informed of
meetings that had been conducted and the enquiries which had been made
to attempt to determine the University's position in connection with the
