MEMORANDUM

Action taken by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate 

Studies at its meeting of November 12th, 1975 gives rise to the 

following motion:

program in Spanish Linguistics or Spanish Literature; the concentration 

is merely "Spanish". Spanish 409 as it presented appears in the 

Calendar specifies readings in Spanish Linguistics and thereby,as 

a course required for honors students in Spanish,falsely implies 

that thee is indeed such a 

degree as honors in Spanish Linguistics. 

The proposal to delete the word linguistics from the course title 

and course description is intended to bring the course description 

into line with the reality of the degrees available.
