If someone has not already done so (and I understand
from our conversation in Senate that someone has), I'd
like to place at the next meeting of Senate a notice of
motion to the effect that:
"The Chairman of Senate either ask an existing Committee,
or strike a special ad hoc committee, to consider ways
in which matters related to curricular revisions may
be more effectively handled by Senate, standing committees,
and the Faculties."
Implicit in this motion is the belief that many changes
• ?
in curriculum could at least as well be handled by an appropriate
committee of Senate, thereby releasing Senate time for more
substantive matters and reducing the amount of paper required
for Senate business.
Should you wish a more detailed motion, or some kind of
rationale, please let me know. Thanks.
