JANUARY 23, 1974
At the meeting of Senate on January 21, 1974 a motion
to suspend the rules of Senate which interfere with nomination
and election was approved, and the Senate Nominating Committee
is requested to bring forward nominations in connection with the
membership of a committee to present its views on the Working
Paper to the Committee on University Government.
Nominations are required for the following categories,
as specified by Senate:
One Administrator
One Faculty member
One Student
The charge to the committee is contained in the under-
noted motion:
"That Senate strike a three member committee consisting
of an administrator, a faculty member, and a student to
hold hearings, examine and discuss academic philosophies
and academic objectives for Simon Fraser University, and
that the University provide secretarial service to the
student member commensurate to his need."
The Senate Nominating Committee has been requested to
submit nominations to this office as soon as possible and prefer-
ably not later than January 29, 1974. These nominations will
immediately be circulated to Senators who will have opportunity
similar to the usual fashion to make additional nominations if,
they wish by providing same to this office, preferably not later
than noon, Monday, February 4, 1974. In this instance, with
suspension of the rules, nominations from the floor will be
accepted.
Senators are reminded that there must be assurance
from those nominated that they would be prepared to stand for
election.
