The Chairman of the Senate Nominating Committee, on behalf of the
Senate Nominating Committee, has submitted nominations to the Senate Committee
on Academic Planning for elections to be conducted by Senate at its meeting of
November 3, 1975.
Under Senate regulations any Senator who wishes to add nominations to
those listed below may do so by notifying the Secretary of Senate in writing of
such nominations, to reach his office no later than Friday, October 31, 1975.
Nominations received after that time, and nominations from the floor, cannot be
accepted.
If a nomination is made, the Senator making the nomination must ensure
in advance that the nominee is willing to stand for election.
SENATE COMMITTEE ON ACADEMIC PLANNING (and Senate Committee on University Budget)
Nine Senators are to be elected, two of whom are to be Lay members and two of
whom are to be Student members., for two year terms of office (staggered).
1.

The nine candidates with the highest number of votes shall be declared
elected, but provided that two of the successful candidates are Lay
members and two of the successful candidates are Student members.
2. a)
Of the nine elected, the Lay member Senator with the lowest number
of votes shall have term of office to September 30, 1976. Similarly
the Student with the lowest number of votes shall have term of office
to September 30, 1976.
b)
For the remaining seven positions, the five candidates with the highest
number of votes shall hold office for two years to September 30, 1977
provided they include one Lay member Senator and one Student member
Senator, and the two remaining candidates shall hold office for one
year to September 30, 1976
