at its meeting of December 14, 1982 gives rise to the following motion:-
MOTION:
"That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board of
Governors, as set forthin S.83 -12 , change in lower division
requirements and change in upper division requirements in the
Geography .

The Department of Geography wishes to make the following changes
in its requirements for the 1983/8

Calendar.
Lower Division Course Requirements:
delete:Geog 251-3 "Methods in Spatial Analysis". The reason
for the change is that the subject of this course
is already covered in Math 101.
add: Math 102-3 as an alternative to Math 101-3. This change
will give the student a choice between the two
"Introduction to Statistics" courses. The requirement
would read Math 101-3 or Math 102-3.
Upper Division Course Requirements:
The changes requested for the upper division involve adding
a number of Geography courses as options in the non-science sections.
.. The reason for-the additions is to give students a. wider choice of
Geography courses so that an ancillary interest might be developed.
Please note that Geography 311 "Hydrology" and Geography 1411
"Models in Hydrometeorology" are new courses that are before the
Faculty of Arts Curriculum Committee for approval.
