GRADUATE CURRICULUM
DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY
p. 213 CHANGE OF REQUIREMENTS
FROM:
a) Methodology
This requirement will be satisfied by a
* student taking GEOG 406 (Geographical
Methodology) or its equivalent at another
institution. Any student lacking this
prerequisite will be expected to take
the GEOG 406 seminar, which will not
form part of the course credits for
the M.A. degree. Faculty members who
normally teach this course will be
responsible for assessing the criteria
for satisfactory performance.
TO:
a) Methodology
This requirement will be satisfied by a
student having taken GEOG 406 (Geographical
Methodology) or GEOG 301 (Geographic Ideas
and Methodology), or the equivalent at
another institution. Any student lacking
this prerequisite will be expected to take
.GEOG 301, which will not form part of the
course credits for the M.A. degree. Faculty
members who normally teach this course will
be responsible for assessing the student's
familiarity with the subject matter.
RATIONALE:
The change reflects modifications in the undergraduate course offerings.
Geography 406 has been dropped and Geography 301, to be a requirement of
all majors and honours candidates, has taken its place. This is in no
way a change of substance in the M.A. requirement, except that the new
course carries 3 undergraduate credits rather than 2.
