Activity Report
Eastern Indonesia Universities Development Project (EIUDP) Phase II Review
SCIA conducted a review of the EIUDP over a six month period ending in May, 1993. Written
materials were collected documenting Project performance and Indonesian human rights issues.
Advertisements were placed calling for submissions from the University community. Over 30
written responses were received and 14 presentations were heard by the Committee. SCIA
concluded that the EI1JDP should add a Development Education component to its Phase H design
concentrating on social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of sustainable development.
With this proviso, SCIA unanimously recommended to the President that the University enter into
a Phase
II agreement for the Project.
