Your students council cannot condone this sit-in; a sit-in that uses
people with problems in a political game. Neither can we condone a

obstruct the rest of the students

November

Mr. Rob Walsh,
President,
Simon
Fraser University,
Student
Society,
Burnaby 2, B.C.
Dear Rob:
The members of the Vancouver City College Student's Council. would
like to take this opportunity, to make known to both you and your Society,
our position on the present situation which exists at
your campus.
?
?
We feel that the main issue at large; i.e. free
transfer
and accreditation,
are worthy causes. We feel that the achievement of these goals would
be beneficial to
many
students in British Columbia. We do not, however,
support the methods which are being em
p
loyed to attain a satisfactory result.
We are of the opinion that protestations and demonstrations can do nothing
but damage and retard any movement toward a meaningful settlement.
Those students from Vancouver City ColleZe who are actively participating
in the demonstrations, are not a representative body of thi
'
s
school. They
are acting on their own and without the approval of this Council.
• ?
We trust that our Council and Simon F'aser's Student Society shall
be able to work to-gether, toward a mutually advantageous end to this
• situation.
