At the Committee of Departments meeting of January 30,
1968, the matter of scholarships, bursaries and awards was
discussed and it was felt that there would be considerable
advantage if the gifts of money received over a one month
period were included as a regular information item on the
Senate agenda. In addition to these financial gifts, which
the Board ultimately accepts, it was suggested that a list
of the other forms of gifts to the University, for example,
library books, should be included.
This matter has been referred to the Chairman of the
is
Senate Scholarship Committee and to the Librarian. They
concur with this suggestion, but recommend that insofar as
book gifts are concerned the Secretary of Senate be informed
only of the more important donations of books.
