I have been instructed to refer back to you the attached material which has

been given temporary Senate Paper No.S.246, The submission was consid:red

by the Senate Agenda Conunittee, and the Committee indicated that further

information need be obtained before recommending that the item

be placed on

thj Senate agenda.

In particular, the Committee wished to know the following:

a)

The dates vhen it is proposed that the revisions would be introduced, or

new courses offered;

b)

If there is the necessary staff available with the expertise to undertake

the proposals. A list of the professors and their qualifications

is

required; and

c) Whether or not there are "hidden" expenditures, particularly in the.

revisions proposed in the Department of History.

In order that the item can be considered for the next regular meeting of

Senate in August, submissions to the Agenda Committee must be. received by

Thursday, July 17.
