At the March meeting of Senate, the question of

the composition of the Standing Committee on Examination

Grading and Practices was referred to ftie Senate Nominating

Committee. The Committee discussed this at length at a

meeting on March 11th.

The Nominating Committee agreed unanimously that

it should not make a

recommendation

on this matter. It is

our view that our responsibility is to propose names for

specific positions or committees, for which terms of

reference, composition, etc., have previously been

established by Senate. We feel that we should not exceed

our our own terms of reference by going beyond this

responsibility on an ad hoc basis.
