SUBJECT: Senate Committee on Undergraduate
DATE: December 30, 1968.
Admissions and STandings.
The
Senate Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Standings at their
December 5th, 1968 Meeting requested the Secretary to advise Senate that::
1.
This Committee is operating on the current regulations previously
adopted and that this Committee requests Senate to direct the Admissions
and Standings A p
peals Committee of Senate to operate under the terms and
conditions of the policies and regulations in force at the time of the
student's admission when hearing appeals.
2.
That all appeals from students must first be presented to the Senate
Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Standings for a decision
before being given further consideration by the Admissions and Standings
Appeals Committee of Senate.
3.
Normally, a student who has completed 3/4 or more on a four year
university system or 2/3 on a three year system of the. total credit
required for a degree would not be admitted to Simon Fraser University,
except where the student has received special permission from his own
university to undertake work here as a Special Student for ultimate
transfer to a degree programme at
his
former institution. It was also
stipulated that this would apply to all courses undertaken and not only
those applicable to the programme in which a student has changed his
faculty or major etc.
