MEMORANDUM

I have been approached by the Mathematics Department

with a request to make retroactive the approved renumbering of

Mathematics 252-2 and 271-3 to 352-2 and 371-3 respectively.

The following are the reasons:-

(1)

The course contents were approved, and first offered in

69-3, so that little disruption would result from retro-

activity.

(2)

Those who have taken the course should be given the

approved upper level credit.

(3)

No one would register in the course until upper level

credit is given now that this has been approved, i.e.

till 70-3.

I concur with the request of the Mathematics Department

and ask you to-give favourable consideration to granting upper

level credit for Mathematics 352-2 and 371-3 to all those who

have been credited previously with Mathematics 252-2 and 271-3

respectively.
