Admissien to graduate programs at this University requires 

a 3.0 average or better. The exact specifications vary within narrow 

limits between the Faculties. Further the Faculties and Departments 

specify varying numbers of credit hours in graduate and undergraduate 

work that a candidate must obtain before graduation. 

However there are no rules which specify what grade point 

average a graduate student must maintain in order to continue in the 

graduate program or what grade point average he must have in order to 

graduate. The Senate Committee on Graduate Studies has devoted 

considerable time to devising appropriate rules for these purposes and 

the accompanying paper from that Committee is presented to Senate for 

approval.
