Proposal. to Extend the Limitation on Number of Semester Hours of Lower Level
Prcreisites in B.Ed. Majors and Minors Taken in Other Faculties
The
present limitation on number of semester hours of lower division
prerequisites has been found either unworkable or undesirable for several reasons.
1.
In some departments the necessary prerequisites for upper
division work add up to many more than 9 semester hours.

(e.g.,
in the Department of Physics a substantial number of
lower levels mathematics and physics courses are essential
preparation for upper level work).
2.
In some areas lower levels courses are particularly useful
in the preparation of teachers, and it should be possible to
require these as part of a course concentration.
