12.0 Examinations

The number and type of examinations required for the Master's

and Doctoral programs vary according to the subject and department.

When the candidate's program does not call for a thesis, and the

program has been completed, the Supervisory Committee will make

a recommendation to the Departmental Graduate Studies Committee

and the Chairman regarding awarding the degree. Where the

candidate's program does call for a thesis and the program has

been completed except for the Thesis Defence, the Supervisory

Committee will make recommendations regarding the Thesis Defence

to the Departmental Graduate Studies Committee.
