At the December meeting of Senate, approval was given in principle to 

the establishment of a program in Canadian Studies. Because of deficiences 

in the way in which the proposal for the establishment of the program 

was presented to Senate, action could not be taken on the organization 

and implementation aspects. For this reason, the proposal was referred 

back to the Academic Planning Committee for reconsideration with the 

objective of having the Committee bring back to Senate recommendations 

regarding the organization, administration and implementation aspects 

of the program. The recommendations of the Academic Planning Committee 

on these matters are set forth below:
