I request that at the next meeting of Senate the
following motion be offered for discussion:
Motion:
That the division of
Continuing
Education report to
Senate the goals and purposes of it's offerings in general
and in particular of the panel discussion "Chariots of
the Gods: Yes or No?tt
- - Rationale for Motion:
I and many of my colleagues are gravely upset c4uttI10
a University panel discussion associated with the name of
S.F.U. features among eight members of the panel at best
three and at worst just one academic professionally qualified
to
speak
on the subject. I and these colleagues do believe
th
atAis not the business of the University (and thereby
the Division of Continuing Education) to sponsor events that
properly fall under the category "popular entertainment".
