BACKGROUND STATEMENT
Senate Document S 71-96, approved August 1971, established
a Minor Degree program in Canadian Studies under which students are
required to complete at least 23 semester hours. Of these only seven
hours are in required courses. The remaining 16 hours may be selected
from any of the courses approved for inclusion by the Canadian Studies
Steering Committee and ratified by Senate. Courses approved on the list
are those offered in departments which have either full or partial Canadian
content. The courses included here for addition to the program electives
list are ones which have been added to departmental programs since the
Canadian Studies Program was approved or are ones which were overlooked
when the original list was compiled.
