As you know, I have been representing the Division of General Studies
on Senate through my existing position as a representative of Joint
Faculty. Since my term as a Senator expires at the end of this semester,
I think it is the proper time to consider putting forward a Senate
resolution which permanently establishes the Dean of General Studies as
a member of Senate. I have reviewed the Universities Act and it is clear
that Senate can add a Dean (Sec. 23, g.
j.)
without having to add additional
representatives from the faculties.
