Rules approved by Senate at its meetings of December 3,

1973, and March 4 and May 6, 1974 were circulated to Senators on

May 24, 1974, with Rules pertaining to Membership and Elections

still to be submitted to Senate for its consideration.

The Committee has been developing Section III - Member-

ship, and Section IV - Elections, of these Rule, and it was the

intention of the Committee to place these Rules as an item on the

agenda of the July meeting of Senate as a Notice of Motion for

consideration by Senate at its August meeting.

As you are aware, Bill 157 - a revised Universities Act -

has passed the legislature. The Committee considered it would be

to the advantage of Senate to delay consideration of Rules related

to membership and elections inasmuch as the legislation has changed.

Accordingly, the Comrfiittee will consider Rules relevant to the new

Act and make recommendations in due course.
