3355: Special Topics

From
SENATE COMMITTEE ON
UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
Date.. February 12, 1975
At its meeting of the 21st of January, Senate Committee on
Undergraduate Studies considered the attached proposal for Archaeology
335-5: Special Topics in Archaeology. This proposal is now forwarded
to Senate for its consideration, with the
.
Committee's recommendation
that it be approved.
While the Committee was unanimously in favour of offering
such a course, a number of members expressed their concern that no
examples had been given of the type of topic which was likely to be
covered by such a course. In view of actions taken by the Committee
and be Senate in the past in approving special topics courses without
detailed outlines or statements of proposed topics, the majority of
the Committee felt unable to delay consideration of the course on
. these grounds. However, the Dean of Arts undertook to secure from
the Archaeology Department a list of possible topics to be offered
in
this course, a copy of which is attached to this recommendation.
