that the deadline for submission of the report 

on Grading Practices in the University be 

further extended to the April meeting of Senate." 

SENATE CCM4ITEE ON 

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES 

February 12, 1975 

At its January meeting, Senate, at the request of the Senate 

Committee on Undergraduate Studies, granted a 3 month extension to 

that Committee for the completion of its report on grading. The reason 

for this request was to enable the Committee to receive comments from 

a wider cross section of the University community than had been possible 

up to that point. Further submissions have been received; but no 

expressions of opinion have so far been received from students although 

the Committee has been assured that these will be forthcoming in the 

near future. The Committee was, however, unwilling to proceed without 

any student input and has requested that student reaction to the draft 

report be made available by the end of February. Accordingly, the 

Committee requests a further extension of one month to enable it to 

submit its final report to the April meeting of Senate.
