"That the Faculty of Science requirement 1.0 

for the B.Sc. degree, major and honors, as 

listed on pages 293 and 294 respectively of 

the 1975-76 calendar, be changed from: 

'c) a minimum of 6 semester hours of electives 

in subjects taken outside the Faculty of Science 

(excluding EDUC 401, 402 and 405).' 

to:

'c) A minimum of 6 semester hours of electives 

in subjects taken within the Faculty of Arts.'"

s I indicated at the last meeting of senate,I 

would like to place the following notice of motion 

before the next meeting of senate:

I believe that the motion will give senate the opportunity 

to decide whether Science students are somehow qualitatively 

different than Arts students in their need for a liberal 

education.
