Action taken by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate
Studies at its meeting of November 8, 1977 gives rise to the
following motion:
MOTION
That the change in Upper Division Course
Requirements, Division Structure,
Division A, as set forth in S.77-141,
be approved and recommended to the
Board for approval.
NOTE - Geography 342 has been deleted from the Department's
course offerings and the calendar entry will be
revised accordingly.

RATIONALE: The changes proposed will enrich and enlarge

Section III of Division A, which is one of the sections
from which all Geography Majors and Honors students must
take at least one course. All courses now in that

The addition of
GEOG 346, the new course, and GEOG 375, now included
in the miscellaneous section, will not impair that
consistency and will enlarge the options of the
department's Majors and Honors students for their
necessary studies in Section III.
Note: Discontinuation of GEOG 342 was approved by Senate November 7, 1977.
