Senate at its January 10, 1977 meeting requested that this
Committee bring forward recommendations to reduce the quantity of
paper used by Senate.
The recommendations that follow are presented for the con-
sideration of Senate.
1.
That all Senate papers be printed on both sides of the page
rather than the present practice of printing on one side only.
Note: Should Senate approve this recommendation it will be
implemented as soon as Ancillary Services completes
installation of the press that prints on both sides of
?
a page.
2.
That Senate be provided with lists of candidates for graduate
degrees at the Master's level. The lists will contain, in addi-
tion to the candidate's name and degree, the title of the thesis,
extended essay, or project.
Note: Appropriate reference documentation will be made available
by the Registrar for Senators in the Senate Chambers should
any Senator wish to see it.
3.
That candidates for Ph.D. degrees continue to be presented to
Senate with support documentation because of the relatively
small number of candidates and the significance of the degree.
4.
That the curriculum vitae of teaching personnel be eliminated
from the documentation for courses and/or programs submitted by
the Senate Graduate Studies Committee.
The Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules is considering
further recommendations regarding means of reducing paper circulation
through delegation of authority for certain actions to various Senate
committees. These recommendations will be brought forward for con-
sideration of Senate at a future meeting.
